Helix, n, 1. an object having a three-dimensional shape like that of a wire wound uniformly in a single layer around a cylinder or cone (like a string perhaps?), as in a corkscrew or spiral staircase; 2. Anatomy: the rim of the external ear. This twisty tune of threes fits together nice and snug as far as my ears are concerned. I’m also reminded of the eternal balance and encompassing nature of the yin and yang swirl.
